A Luxurious Update

This mid-century modern office chair, crafted from solid oak, was in good structural condition, though its original polyester fabric had become worn and uncomfortable. The goal of this update was to rescue a classic piece from the landfill and breathe new life into it through thoughtful design choices in color and texture.

The transformation involved stripping, sanding, and refinishing the dated orange wood to create a fresh, lightened look with a relaxed white-washed finish. The original polyester fabric was replaced with luxurious alpaca wool bouclé, featuring a cheerful rainbow confetti texture. The updated color palette, which includes hot pink, rust, light grey-blue, and moss green, brings modern vibrancy to the chair, making it versatile enough for a variety of contemporary settings.
